PPGI Sandwich Panel
PPGI Sandwich Panels use pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) steel as both face layers, bonded to an insulation core that can be PIR, EPS, or rockwool depending on the thermal and fire-performance requirements of the project. The PPGI designation refers specifically to the coated steel facing, not the core material. A typical zinc coating of Z275 (275 g/m²) protects the underlying steel from corrosion, while the factory-applied paint system provides long-term color retention and weather resistance.
The combination of a rigid foam or mineral core with painted steel skins gives the panel both structural spanning capacity and thermal insulation in a single factory-assembled unit. This eliminates the need for separate insulation layers, vapor barriers, and exterior cladding during construction.
Available profiles include corrugated and trapezoidal designs for roofing, plus flat or micro-ribbed faces for walls. Standing-seam systems allow concealed fastening for a cleaner appearance, while exposed-fastener designs offer a more economical option. Exterior finishes are available in a wide range of RAL and custom colors, with interior faces typically supplied in standard off-white or custom colors.
Installation involves securing panels to wooden or steel purlins using self-drilling screws with EPDM sealing washers, positioned at corrugation high points to prevent water accumulation. The interlocking joint system enables rapid modular assembly, reducing on-site labor time while ensuring waterproofing and structural integrity for industrial, commercial, and agricultural applications.
