PP Honeycomb Core

PP (polypropylene) Honeycomb Core is a lightweight cellular core that forms 8 mm hexagonal cells from extruded polypropylene. It offers a high strength-to-weight ratio with consistent shear properties, and most grades are supplied with a non-woven polyester scrim and a barrier film to improve bonding and control resin uptake.

The core resists moisture, corrosion, and common chemicals, and performs across a wide service temperature range. It absorbs very little water, dampens sound and vibration, and absorbs impact energy well. Because it is polypropylene, it is fully recyclable.

PP honeycomb is compatible with thermoforming, vacuum infusion, and CNC machining, and can be integrated into sandwich panels by thermal welding or adhesive bonding.
