PVC Foam Core
PVC Foam Core is a cross-linked, closed-cell structural foam engineered for high-performance sandwich composites. Its closed-cell architecture resists moisture, corrosion, and chemicals while maintaining consistent mechanical performance and dimensional stability across demanding service conditions.
Produced through a controlled foaming process, the material develops a fine, uniform cell structure with low water absorption and a high strength-to-weight ratio. Properties are validated through ASTM standards for compressive, shear, and tensile performance.
Available across a wide density range, the core suits marine hulls and decks, wind-energy components, transportation interiors, and structural building panels. It machines cleanly with standard cutting and CNC tooling, and bonds to fiberglass, aluminum, and plywood using common resins and processes such as hand lay-up, vacuum infusion, and prepreg. Its low resin uptake keeps finished sandwich panels light.
