CFRT Sheets
Continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic (CFRT) sheets are high-strength composite laminates produced by impregnating continuous glass fibers with a thermoplastic matrix such as polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE). Unlike thermoset composites, CFRT can be thermoformed, reprocessed, and fully recycled, making it a sustainable alternative for weight-critical structural applications.
The continuous fiber architecture delivers exceptional tensile strength and directional stiffness, while the thermoplastic matrix adds impact toughness, chemical resistance, and durability across a wide temperature range. Standard sheets measure 1220 mm × 2440 mm, with roll stock available up to 2800 mm wide.
CFRT sheets are thermoformable using compression molding or hot-press techniques, enabling complex curved geometries for automotive interiors, luggage shells, sporting equipment, and transportation components. They also bond readily with foam cores, non-woven fabrics, and decorative films through heat lamination or polyurethane adhesives.
Applications include automotive body panels, refrigerated truck walls and floors, luggage and case shells, sporting goods, wind energy components, and structural laminates where weight reduction and recyclability are priorities.
