Building Sandwich Panel
Building sandwich panels combine a polypropylene honeycomb core with outer skin layers, typically Continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic (CFRT) sheets. The honeycomb structure, approximately 95% air, delivers exceptional strength-to-weight ratios while maintaining structural integrity across temperatures from -40°C to +80°C.
The polypropylene core fuses to skin layers through glue-free bonding under heat and pressure, eliminating adhesives. CFRT skins may include multiple unidirectional tape layers and protective films for enhanced bonding and scratch resistance. Panels resist moisture, corrosion, and chemicals while remaining fully recyclable.
Available thicknesses range from 5mm to 120mm, with maximum dimensions reaching 2.8 meters wide by 12 meters long. Core densities typically span 60-100 kg/m³, with compressive strength values from 1.47 to 2.6 MPa. The thermoplastic nature enables CNC machining, thermoforming, and bending without delamination concerns.
Applications include commercial vehicle bodies, mobile homes, transportation flooring, marine decks, architectural partitions, and building formwork. Surface treatments offer glossy or matte protective films, embossing, and custom paint coatings. UV protection through carbon black additives maintains mechanical properties in outdoor environments.
