PU Foam Sandwich Panel
The PU Foam Sandwich Panel combines a polyurethane foam core bonded to external skin layers, delivering thermal insulation and structural integrity in one component. The lightweight design results from the low-density polyurethane core and thin, high-strength skins, while the closed-cell foam structure minimizes heat transfer and provides excellent thermal performance.
External skins typically use Continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic (CFRT) sheets constructed from multiple unidirectional fiber tape layers at varying angles, creating high strength and toughness. The rigid, closed-cell polyurethane foam core resists moisture absorption while providing thermal and sound insulation. Core density can be customized according to application requirements.
A heat-resistant, low-temperature resistant adhesive bonds the skin layers to the foam core, ensuring structural integrity across environmental conditions. The environmentally friendly formula emits no volatile odors after curing. For additional structural support, materials like wood, aluminum profiles, or fiberglass can be embedded within the foam core during manufacturing.
Standard panels reach maximum dimensions of 12 meters length by 2.8 meters width, with customizable thickness from 10mm to 120mm. These panels serve refrigerated trucks, cold storage rooms, mobile cold units, caravan interiors, and wall/ceiling applications. They process easily using standard woodworking tools or Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining for precision cutting, drilling, and shaping to meet specific design requirements.
