CFRT Sandwich Panel
The Continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic (CFRT) Sandwich Panel combines CFRT skin thermally laminated to a polypropylene honeycomb core through a glue-free process that fuses components under heat and pressure. This construction delivers high strength-to-weight ratio, significant impact resistance, and inherent resistance to moisture and chemicals while remaining 100% recyclable.
The CFRT skin features multiple layers of unidirectional fiber tapes oriented in different directions, typically covered by protective film for scratch resistance. The polypropylene honeycomb core provides hexagonal cell structure with high compressive strength at low density (60-100 kg/m³), offering energy absorption and sound dampening properties.
Available in thicknesses from 6mm to 120mm, panels reach maximum dimensions of 2.8 meters wide by 12 meters long. The thermoplastic nature enables thermoforming and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining operations including cutting, engraving, and bending. Surface treatments include protective films, embossing, custom painting, and Ultraviolet (UV) protection for outdoor applications.
Applications span construction of box bodies for cargo and recreational vehicles, vehicle flooring, sports equipment, building formwork, solar back panels, and industrial components. Customization services include tailored dimensions, thickness, core density, color selection, and CNC pre-processing for finished parts.
