Plywood Foam Core Panel
Plywood foam core panels combine plywood facers bonded to a lightweight foam core, merging surface durability with insulating and weight-reducing properties. The core materials include Extruded Polystyrene (XPS), Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), polyurethane (PU), or Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) foam, creating panels that are structurally supportive yet lightweight.
These panels deliver a high strength-to-weight ratio, moisture resistance, and dimensional stability that prevents warping. The closed-cell foam structure provides effective thermal and acoustic insulation, while the smooth plywood surface resists dirt, grime, and bacterial growth for easy maintenance.
Standard dimensions are typically 1220mm by 2440mm, with variable thicknesses ranging from thin sheets to several inches based on core material and application requirements. Density varies with the chosen core, influencing overall weight and structural properties.
Applications span interior wall cladding, partitions, cabinetry, desktops, and ceilings in construction and furniture industries, plus recreational vehicle manufacturing, marine interiors, commercial signage, and exhibition displays. The panels can be processed with conventional woodworking tools and accept painting, printing, or additional material mounting for customization.
