Aluminum XPS Sandwich Panel
Aluminum XPS sandwich panels combine extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam cores with aluminum skins bonded by polyurethane-based adhesives. The aluminum facings use alloy grades including 1050, 1060, 3003, and 6061, with thicknesses from 0.1 to 3.0 millimeters. Surface treatments include anodizing, painting, embossing, brushing, and sandblasting, with RAL color options available. The rigid closed-cell XPS core provides thermal conductivity of 0.020 to 0.030 W/m·K, compressive strength from 250 to 800 kPa, and water absorption below 0.3%, with densities between 35 and 60 kg/m³.
These panels deliver structural stability with reduced weight, offering moisture and corrosion resistance alongside fire-retardant properties rated B0-B1. The XPS core maintains performance across temperatures from -60°C to +80°C. Both aluminum and XPS components are recyclable, and panels accommodate CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining for precise fabrication.
Panel configurations range from 10 to 150 millimeters in total thickness, with widths up to 2600 millimeters and lengths to 12,000 millimeters. Manufacturing employs vacuum compression bonding techniques to prevent delamination and ensure flat, integrated assemblies.
Applications include modular buildings, exterior walls, roofs, and interior partitions in construction; refrigerated trucks, cold storage facilities, and vehicle bodies in transportation; and aerospace, marine, and industrial equipment housings where thermal insulation and lightweight structural performance are required.
